DRINK TEA

Drinking tea is always considered a fundamentally British pass time, a fact that most tea brands will capitalise on when advertising. I found a list of all tea brands in the UK and looked at their websites, paying specific attention to the idea of British branding and promotion. The following examples all focus on British sourcing and heritage, the idea of 'afternoon tea' and their association with charities and other business:

Fortnum and Mason

Bettys and Taylors

Premier Foods

Associated British Foods

Lancashire Tea

Lipton Tea

Metro Deco

PG Tips

Tetley's

Twinings

Typhoo

Whittards

Yorkshire Tea

JING tea

Most of these examples will use a public holiday as selling points, for example Mothers Day and Easter. While looking up these brands I came across a charity set up to aid those affected by the London Riots in 2011 called Operation Cup Of Tea.
The campaign was initially set up to encourage people to sit inside and have a cup of tea every night, sending in photos of themselves doing so until the rioting stopped but due to the success of it, a charity was set up in which you could buy tea on their website with all the proceeds helping the people whose lives were affected by the riots.
